French Real Estate Website App
May 20th, 2020 I started my contract with Achete Moi through Upwork. I rapidly provisioned the application locally and was ready to start making changes. Throughout September 2020 to December 2020 I continuously applied updates – refactored the user interface to ensure it worked on multiple devices and also provided a set of new features.
A few of the new features worthy of a direct mention are “360 panoramic views”, “SNS integration” and “Buyer/Seller Messaging”. After 1 year of continuous bug fixing, maintenance and feature delivering my contract has ended due to insufficient funds from the client side, because of the Covid situation in France.
Analysis, Planning & Challenges
Communication with the client, analysis and planning are some of the most important responsibilities of a Software Developer as well as some of the activities I use most often in my daily work.
The most challenging problems I solved during my work on the project were the three big features I mentioned above. The 360 panoramic views were implemented with a 3rd party library, SNS integration was done with AWS and the most critical functionality – Buyer/Seller Messaging – with Java threads. Other big functionality changes were adding a search filter menu, as well as the possibility to save property in “Favourites”.
